Castello di Manta

Around 6 km from Saluzzo lies the Castello di Manta (March-Sept. Tue-Sun 10.00 – 18.00, otherwise 17.00, mid-Dec.-Jan. closed). The Margrave Tommaso gave it to his illegitimate son Valerano at the end of the 15th century.

In memory of his father, Valerano had the Sala Baronale designed on the theme of Tommaso's knightly romance, the ‘Libre du Chevalier Errant'. The same room houses an impressive fresco entitled the Fountain of Youth.
